Training / Education

In 2019 we relocated to the main site of the RUH. This has given us the opportunity to access specially designed clinical spaces and to reside in our own building. We have now restarted our provision of different training and educational events.

BCPS is committed to training and we normally run a number of events each year. Our centre also has a long tradition of welcoming visitors and of delivering training on and off site. We regard this as a key part of our mission and it is catered for by a dedicated team within the unit.

As a national centre, we mainly focus on developing specialist practice for pain management clinicians. However, research projects in the unit also focus on developing training packages for primary care clinicians, and the rehabilitation techniques taught are useful for a range of chronic conditions.

All of our training events have the same standards: they should be research-based and conceptually precise, yet the bulk of the training is highly experiential, clinically relevant and requires active participation by the trainees. Years of trainee feedback have helped us to refine this balance.

We invite you to explore the links below. Please do not hesitate to contact the Education team for more information about any aspect of our work.
